Tips For Stress-Free Preparations

Staycations and getaways are becoming more popular and with something for everyone, you can choose to relax or explore your adventurous side, as a group or as a couple. Planning your trip can sometimes seem stressful, especially if you’re sticking to a budget, or trying to organise a group break, but don’t worry! Below, we’re going to look at a few tips on how to make preparing for your weekend away stress-free, so you can relax and enjoy yourself – which is a given if you’re heading to one of the many Spa Breaks on offer! Read on to find out more.

Plan

Working out and sticking to a plan is one of the best ways to make your life that little bit easier. One of the first things to plan is of course, where you’re going! Take the time to research the most ideal break for you, whether that’s a weekend in a relaxing spa hotel or a few days away in a luxury lodge – this way, you can look for the best deals and packages to suit you. You’re going to need to have an idea of when you want to go too. If there is a group of you going, make sure you’re all on the same page when it comes to dates and times, as well as how much it is going to cost, which we will look at in more detail below.

Work to your budget

When preparing for your getaway, you should make sure that you stick to your budget! Ideally, you’ll have an idea of how much money you want to spend on the experience, however, you must also factor in any added extras that might come along with it, like food and drinks, spending money, or new clothes that you might need. Making a budget of how much you’re willing to spend on accommodation as well as all the extras means that you can have a comprehensive idea of how much you’re spending when you’re away, so you won’t have to stress when you’re trying to enjoy your weekend. Writing your costs down or downloading a budgeting app can help with this.

Relaxing or exciting?

Before you go, you should think about what you want the trip to include, are you going to have to book events, meals, or activities throughout? If so, you should do this before you go, so it’s all planned for when you arrive. You should also think about what type of trip you’re hoping for – if you’re expecting a relaxing getaway, make sure you have chosen the best accommodation for this, if you are hoping for a more exciting, fun-filled weekend, you are going to need a hotel that offers party packages – these are great as a lot of the preparation is done for you.

Make a packing list

Writing a list always makes planning seem a little less daunting and allows you to physically see what you need to take with you – marking them off as you go means you’re less likely to forget anything. Start with the essentials, what do you need, that you could not do without? Do you need any documents? Write down what you think you require for your trip and go through it once you’ve packed. Doing this can give you extra peace of mind that you haven’t forgotten anything important! Make sure you pack sensibly, it’s always nice to have options and back-ups but it is best to be realistic to save you carrying your whole wardrobe!

Make an itinerary

If your getaway is going to be filled with activities, it is always best to make an itinerary so that you know what is happening and when – it is particularly handy if your break is with a group of friends. You could even make a printout of your itinerary for each person in the group, this way you don’t have to panic about reminding everyone to be in the same place at the same time, so you can just relax and enjoy your getaway.
