Best activities to do in London after your Holidays 

Summer is officially coming to an end, and many people are coming back from their holidays. Whether it was some quality time with your family members abroad or staying in the UK’s countryside, you might be craving more. Luckily London is massive, and there are so many things to do and see that you would have to take additional two weeks off to do everything you want. There is something for everyone, whether it is sightseeing, a boat ride on the river Thames or body-to-body massage in some of London’s best massage spots. 

Don’t worry if you are feeling overwhelmed with the number of choices you have. In this article, we made a list of our favourite activities that you can do to prolong your holidays. What is more, they are not your usual touristy spots so you’re almost guaranteed to find something to suit your needs!

Picnic on a Primrose Hill 

Primrose Hill is one of London’s best spots to have a relaxing picnic. It’s located on the north side, not far away from Regent’s Park, and it’s one of the nicest spots to sit with friends and enjoy beautiful views of the UK’s capital city. 

The hill doesn’t have many trees, which is a big plus. From the top, you can see the whole of London and many landmarks such as the London Eye or the Shard. During summer, it’s a trendy spot amongst locals who arrive with friends or family to enjoy food and drinks while bathing in the sunshine.

Visit Leadenhall Market 

If you are interested in old architecture or are a fan of Harry Potter, then Leadenhall Market might sound interesting to you. It is an old Victorian arcade with cobblestone alleys and beautifully painted walls which are definitely going to make you feel like a time traveller. Moreover, it was used as a filming set for Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley. 

The market is located near Bank station, which is a business district. So most definitely, in the afternoon hours, you can spot many people dressed in business attire having an after-work drink. 

There are also multiple lunch spots that offer fast casual dining and some that are more refined. So if you are looking for a spot that doesn’t have many tourists and is more local, then you should definitely head down to Leadenhall Market.

 Walk along Regent’s Canal 

If you are looking for a nice and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a walk and get some fresh air, then Regents Canal could be a great option. The atmosphere there is rather relaxed, and the lazy flow of the river makes it even better. 

Some people might like the opportunity to take a boat ride or rent a bike which is also an option there. We suggest starting your walk at Kings Cross and then continuing towards Camden. You won’t see many tourists there, which is probably a good thing after your holidays!

 Barbican Conservatory 

Barbican Conservatory is a unique place which many people don’t know about. It’s hidden amongst the brutalist architecture of Barbican in the middle of London. It’s a beautiful rain forest which is home to over 1,500 various tropical plants.

You can find plants from all over the world, such as those found in Brazil or South Africa. Some of the vegetation in the Barbican Conservatory are even ginger plants, date palms and coffee plants. If you are a fan of succulents, then you are in luck as they have a huge collection!

The best part is that it is open every day and you can visit it completely free. However, if you want to find out a bit more about the plants, then Barbican Conservatory offers a guided tour for £12.50.
